A 6-goal thriller at Travis Field!

It didn’t take long for the goals to come as on 7 minutes striker Kyle Edwards gave the hosts the lead. Danny Rios making his first full start for the Cavalry picked out Edwards and he lobbed Miles Motakef from the edge of the area. The hosts only held the lead for 7 minutes though as Jovan Prado was picked out in the penalty area and he drilled a low effort beyond Alex Fetterley.

Cavalry had a couple of terrific opportunities to retake the lead just before the interval, firstly Rico-Contreras was picked out by Boyce and he delivered a terrific ball to the farpost which Edwards met but he headed straight at Motakef. Then as the visitors looked to break up the pitch, Cavalry won back possession and a ball was played through to Contreras who beat Motakef to the ball and poked it over the Albion shot-stopper but just as it looked like he was getting on the scoresheet the Albion defence managed to get back and clear off the line!

Just five minutes after the break Cavalry re-took the lead and it was a milestone goal as it was the 5oth league goal of the season. Defender Christian Clarke met a Devin Boyce corner at the near post with a powerful header giving Motakef no chance! Cavalry were pegged back again though when Romain Daniellou went on a solo run beating three players before playing into the path of Daniel Espinoza and he turned and fired beyond Fetterley.

After the hour mark Cavalry re-took the lead when a cross was played to Dom Faletto and he headed into the path of Kyle Edwards who smashed home left footed from just inside the penalty area. The hosts probably thought they were going to take all three points, but the visitors had other ideas on 84 minutes when Daniellou was again provider, as he picked out Mohammed Kenneh who swivelled and hit an effort off the crossbar and into the back of Fetterley’s net.
