Cavalry FC Strengthen The Midfield and Land a Stud Goalkeeper

Bryan-College Station, Texas (April 25, 2022)- The Cavalry FC is excited to sign three great midfielders to help solidify the field and one incredibly experienced goalkeeper to lead the Cavalry defense.

 

The Cavalry FC first welcomes 25-year-old Elliot Cutts to the roster! Cutts, originally from London, England, is an extremely versatile midfielder with some serious goal-scoring abilities. Cutts has a very impressive resume, both at the collegiate and professional levels. Before moving to the states, the British native got the chance to represent his home country by playing for England Schoolboys Football Association at U18. The midfielder spent his freshman season at Wright State University before playing at Wingate University until 2019. Cutts was a breakout star for the Bulldogs in 2017, leading the team in goals with 12 through 20 games started and had a team-high 27 points. After leading the team in goals scored in ‘18, In 2019 Cutts outperformed himself again, finishing with 14 goals and 5 assists and leading his team to a 15-3-3 season and a SAC conference championship title. After graduating from Wingate with a degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management, Cutts played professionally in the NISA for Stumptown AC in North Carolina.

 

The Cavalry welcome Jake Lovinger to the lineup to help bolster the midfield and defense. Lovinger was a standout high school recruit in his hometown of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Earning numerous accolades such as 2016 District Player of the Year, 3x All-Conference Player, and 2x All-Region. The 23-year-old played at the University of Mary Washington for four years from 2016 to 2020, finishing with 13 goals and 6 assists in his 76-game career, 49 of which he started. Of the 21 games he started during his last season with the Eagles, Lovinger’s defense held his opponents to 11 shutouts and only allowed 1 goal in 7 of those 21 games. Lovinger also has professional-level playing experience, teaming up with fellow Cavalry FC addition Elliot Cutts at Stumptown A.C. for the 2020-2021 season.

 

Next up, the 22-year-old midfielder from Toronto, Canada Evan Dekker will be playing for the Cavalry this summer. During his time in Canadian prep school, Dekker captained his team to an OFSAA Provincial Championship in 2018. Dekker spent his first two collegiate years playing at Malone University in Ohio before transferring to the University of Evansville where he has spent the past two seasons. While at MU, Dekker was a vital part of the lineup, starting all but two games during his time there, and was even named team captain during his sophomore year. Dekker ingrained himself at Evansville just as quick as he did at MU, leading the Aces in minutes played, starting every game and ending with 905 minutes played.

 

Lastly, the Cavalry are excited to bring on German goalkeeper Niklas Neumann. Neumann worked his way through the 1. FC Kaiserslautern youth system, playing on the youth, U17, and U19 squads as a teenager. The 6’1” goalie has been in net for three years at the University of Maryland, starting 35 games for the Terrapins in three seasons. Neumann was the sole goal stopper for the Terps last season, achieving 6 shoutouts through 15 games and only allowed more than one goal in two games the entire season. The keeper was named to the All-Big Ten 2nd Team and Big Ten All-Tournament Team his freshman year. During his college offseason, Neumann plays back in Germany for a semi-professional team, KSV Hessen Kassel.
