Cavalry Add Marcelo Palomino To 2018 Roster

Bryan/College Station, Texas – June 28, 2018 – The Brazos Valley Cavalry FC are thrilled to announce the return of Marcelo Palomino in 2018. Marcelo joins older brother and club captain Josue Palomino this summer as an anticipated talent. At just 17 years of age, Palomino has turned the heads of many evaluators and is on course for a transition to professional soccer. A current member of the Houston Dynamo Academy, Marcelo brings an entertaining level of flair to an already talent-stacked roster.

Palomino returns to the squad after scoring 2 goals as a substitute in his debut match with the Cavalry FC last year. Both goals came at vital moments in the Cavalry’s inaugural home victory over Texas United. In spite of his successes, injuries unfortunately forced the young midfielder to miss the remaining majority of the season.

Post-recovery, Palomino displayed the same flashes of brilliance previously seen in the Brazos Valley. His return to form with the Dynamo Academy saw him honored as a 2017 United Soccer Coaches Youth All American and called into the esteemed US Youth National Team Summit as a member of their U18 squad. In addition to classwork, Palomino’s soccer development led to him to practice with the Houston Dynamo first team during their exciting 2017 playoff run.

The teenager’s has since earned an invitation to the Dynamo’s preseason training in January and remained an active member of first team training sessions in Houston. With Houston Dynamo’s U19 squad this season, Palomino led the team with 17 goals in 25 total appearances. His recent successes with the Dynamo even earned him a spot to the U18 Men’s National Team camp earlier this month. As the Cavalry FC prepares for its upcoming PDL playoff push, the club is excited to welcome Marcelo back.
