Cavalry Fall In PDL Conference SemifinalStatesboro, GA – July 20, 2018 – A terrific 2018 PDL season for the Brazos Valley Cavalry FC came to a close today following a 2-1 loss to SIM Aguilas in the PDL Southern Conference Semi-Finals, hosted by Tormenta FC in Statesboro, GA. This brought to an end what was great season for the Cavalry in only their second season of play. The scoring of today’s game opened in the 28th minute of the match when SIMA Aguilas scored on a strike to make it 1-0. The Southeast Division champs increased their lead in the 35th minute with another strike to take a 2-0 lead into the half. The Cavalry started the second half strong, scoring in the 46th minute, when Marcelo Palomino scored his 5th goal in 5 games to put the Cavalry on the board. The team had several great chances to try and score an equalizer but could not convert any of the opportunities. Keeper Pedro Medrano made several key saves to keep the Cavalry in the game, but the team still fell 2-1. Next season the Cavalry have qualified for the US Open Cup as a result of their winning the Mid-South division and will again take part in the PDL for the 2019 season. The club would also like to thank the fans for their support this season and look forward to another successful year on the field next year.
