College Station/Bryan, TX – August 1, 2018 – Forward Brandon Guhl was voted to the PDL All Southern Conference team today, the only first team selection of any Mid-South Division club. The conference teams are selected through voting from each PDL team, with the votes for the conference awards coming from teams only from the Southern Conference.

Brandon Guhl was the leading scorer for the Cavalry in 2018, tallying 10 goals and 5 assists on the year, powering a strong Cavalry attack to their first Mid South division crown in team history. Guhl was also 7th in minutes played for the Cavalry and was among the PDL leaders in shots taken. The Butler University forward was named at the beginning of the season to the Top Prospects of the PDL list, and came on strong at the end of the season to meet those lofty expectations.

Carlos Viveros was named to the Honorable Mention list for the Southern Conference, joining OKC Energy U23 Forward Matt Puig on the list from the Mid-South Division. Viveros led the Cavalry in minutes played and contributed 3 goals and 3 assists for the club. Viveros was part of a strong back line that allowed the least number of goals against in the Mid South division and was key in setting up his teammates for attack from the back line.
