Cavalry Joining Prestigious United Soccer LeagueBryan/College Station, Texas – October 27, 2018 – The Brazos Valley Cavalry FC, formerly of the Premier Development League (PDL), will compete in the United Soccer League (USL) League Two starting in the 2019 soccer season. The PDL announced on September 28, 2018 that it has merged with the United Soccer League. The largest professional soccer organization in North America, the USL includes more than 100 clubs across the United States and Canada and oversees three soccer entities –- USL Championship, USL League One, and USL League Two. Clubs that formerly competed in the PDL will participate in the USL League Two. Its purpose is to showcase premier competition soccer with a hyper-local flair and to provide a platform where players can polish their skills and develop so they can advance into the professional ranks of the sport. More than 70 percent of players who participated in this league during the last eight years have been selected in Major League Soccer’s (MLS) SuperDraft. Based in Tampa, Florida, the United Soccer League is sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation and Canadian Soccer Association.
