Cavalry score 8 for the second game running!Cavalry dominated the ball early on and took the lead on nine minutes when Alejandro Saez picked the ball up on the left side of the penalty area and fizzed a low ball into the path of Mason Schuster who lifted the ball over North Texas goalkeeper Cardenas and into the back of the net. Captain for the evening Jesse Ortiz doubled Cavalry’s lead, when he superbly curled the ball into the bottom left corner of Cardenas goal from a freekick 25 yards from goal. The third came just minutes later when striker Cyrus Harmon received the ball on the left before cutting onto his right foot and after a couple of stepovers he curled an audacious effort into the far corner of the goal. After the interval, goals flowed for Cavalry and on Jacob Evans grabbed the fourth of the evening for the hosts. After Cavalry had a good spell of possession the ball fell to Evans and he lifted over Cardenas from close range. Moments later Cavalry grabbed their fifth of the evening and Tom Hulsch got his name on the scoresheet when he was played in down the left before powerfully firing low and hard beyond the Legends keeper Cardenas. Cavalry again produced a terrific team move with Alejandro Saez completing a hattrick of assists as he picked out Jalen Anderson before the winger fired home from close range. Four minutes later Jacob Evans got his second of the evening when keeper Cardenas couldn’t hold onto an effort and pushed into open play and Evans was in the right place at the right time to fire home. Cavalry completed the rout on 86 minutes when Saez fired a left footed effort goalward and despite the ball hitting both the crossbar and post it found its way into the back of the net. Brazos Valley Cavalry are next in action at Travis Field on Thursday 20th June 2019 when we host Houston FC. Kick-off is 7.30pm. |
