Cavalry maintain 100% record!Cavalry took the lead on the half-hour mark when Jon-Rico Contreras made in two goal in two games. The fullback was picked out by Tsubasa Takada in the penalty area and he rifled an effort across goal into the far corner, giving Kyle Johnston in the Houston goal absolutely no chance! The hosts could have double their lead just eight minutes later when man of the match Andre Charalambous picked out Kyle Edwards who found himself in the clear, but Johnston was off his line quickly to deny the striker at his feet. Edwards did get his name on the scoresheet just eleven minutes into the second-half, after being picked out by winger Jacob Evans, the striker moved the ball onto his right foot before powerfully hitting home from just inside the penalty area and doubling the advantage. Evans then got a much-deserved goal on 67 minutes, after cutting in from the right wing he drove into the penalty area before shooting goalward and his effort clipped a Houston defender before beating Johnston. The victory was wrapped up on 78 minutes when substitute Mason Schuster got himself on the scoresheet. Midfielder Devin Boyce picked out Jalen Anderson who in turn picked out the unmarked Kyle Edwards in the penalty area, but the striker was denied by Johnston, but the Houston keeper could only parry into the path of Schuster who was able to tap home from close-range. The drama wasn’t over there though as on 92 minutes Houston were awarded a penalty-kick and substitute Fernando Borges stepped up but he was denied by Chase Vosvick who dived to his left and pushed the ball away from goal and with that ensuring Cavalry kept their fifth clean sheet in 6 games!
